How Do I...
Make An Appointment?

Appointments Phone Line

The appointments line is open between 8.30am to 12 noon and 2.00 to 6.00pm Monday to Friday.
Please phone the surgery numbers 01225 757120/757143 and Select Option 1.

Appointments Policy

Our obligation is to offer you an appointment with a medical practitioner, that is a doctor or nurse, within 48 hours of your reasonable request. We hope you understand that this is a difficult target to achieve and we are proud that we do achieve this in 98% of all requests.

However, to achieve this, it may not always be possible for you to make an appointment with the doctor of your choice. It also means that with respect to the appointments that are in high demand, ie late afternoon appointments, we can only offer these on a first come first serve basis.

Unfortunately, the situation is not helped by the number of patients who do not turn up for their appointments. On average this runs at 100+ wasted appointments per month.

We offer the facility to book up to one week ahead. We also offer appointments at varying lengths to enable patients to book an appointment of their choice.

Telephone Appointments
To increase the amount of appointments that we are able to offer, we also have a limited number of telephone consultations at the end of morning surgery with some of the doctors. The time of the appointment will be approximate and you will need to leave a telephone number on which you can be contacted.

How Do I...
Obtain Telephone Advice?

We are quite happy to give advice by telephone and in many cases this is all that is necessary. If you require advice, telephone the surgery and the receptionist will take your details and pass them on to a doctor.

How Do I...
Obtain A Home Visit?

If you feel too ill to come to the surgery, you are welcome to ask for a home visit. If possible, please make such requests by 11.00am. This helps us a great deal in planning our daily work. Home visits are at the discretion of the doctor and we will often telephone you back to confirm the nature of the problem and the necessity of a visit.
